Summary

In Summer 2000  coal extraction has begun under the west quarter of the city of Recklinghausen, Germany, in the working height BP408 of the mine Blumenthal-Haard of the Deutschen Steinkohle AG. For the purpose of monitoring of influences on the earth surface an online GPS object monitoring system was installed. Threedimensional positions were permanently determined for three stations above the mining area by RTK-GPS. After a time period of 16 months the monitoring system has proved with millimeter precisions to be practicale and reliable.
